Be better if the BBC left the precious prem to Sky and focused their attention on the three leagues that more people support than all the prem clubs put together! Never happen though unless they have to pay so much they are priced out of the market - plus the government interferes as usual insisting Sky don't have a monopoly.
As per my previous post the full FL live rights wouldn't have cost much more than the PL highlights. The BBC would have got a massive amount of extra live football, including all the playoffs and two cup finals, which would have pretty good viewing figures given the quality and support especially for the Championship clubs.
I reckon the BBC could have got the FL rights a lot cheaper by offering their resources to promote the FL, such as pushing season ticket and match day ticket deals via their website, radio and tv shows. Which would work out well for everyone.
