edit: I can't understand why people think we'll get a big (or a sizeable increase on a L2 game) attendance for this one, Wigan have about 8 fans and nobody around Swindon will see that name and rush out to buy tickets for it. Even another Premier League team like Swansea would have been a bigger draw as they always bring a good number to the CG.
I suspect there will be a few who never/rarely venture to the County Ground just because it's a Premiership team and they've seen them on MOTD. Bit like Coventry 10 years ago. Don't get me wrong, at the time Coventry were a bigger club than Wigan are now and had a lot more history, but it was hardly a tie that should have got most people wet. Still sold out.

Totally agree. A big push required to get a big crowd for this one. Also I think it's a good opportunity to open the Stratton Bank for us as well.
Thats what I was thinking. Stick the Wigan fans in the away dugout and try and sell the whole ground - £15 a ticket. £5 a kid.

Don't think we'll even be on TV abroad this time round. Loads of games bigger or more interesting than ours in this round. Forest vs Leicester, Arsenal vs Leeds, Stoke vs Gillingham (Pullis against his old club), Fulham vs Charlton, Everton vs Tamworth, Liverpool vs Southend? , Chelmesford? vs Bolton, Fleetwood? vs Blackpool, Spurs vs Cheltenham, amongst others.

Decisions like that are what make the board so ace.

I think that giving them a dugout may even be a little optomistic for the number they will bring.

I don't remember that Coventry tie but how many did they bring? I'd imagine a fair few more than Wigan will. I'm grumpy today so perhaps being overly cynical.

Hopefully the ticket prices will be similar to the Hudders game. That way they will get a big crowd, with it being a tenner on the bank.

We have not managed to knock a top flight side out of any Cup Competition since 24th January 1990, and even that was in the Zenith Data (Norwich). That is dismal, and this is a great chance to put it right. Last win against a top flight side in the FA Cup was Norwich again, 1988.
Hope it isnt on TV, because fans are not turning out for the televised games (recession).
If the tickets are cheap then it will be a great chance to get a really good number of home fans down the CG. Typical 3rd round draw, at first you cant believe we didnt get Liverpool or Man United, but the more you think about it, the more it seems an attractive tie.
Sonic, Coventry sold out Arkells and Stratton Bank. But away attendances generally were better then. Wigan have been in the Premier League a long time, and this game would be a new ground for a lot of their supporters, just something different for the rest. So I think they might well sell out the Arkells (but only if its not on TV).

Considering most people wrote off our Cup chances after getting drawn with Huddersfield in the first round, I'm not complaining who we get. We can turn them over.

Glad we got a home draw - an away tie at United or Liverpool would have been great, but Xmas is an expensive time therefore hopefully it will make it more affordable for people to attend.
