Cancelling Mobile Phone Contracts

This forum saved my girlfriend and her mum about £400, so I'm hoping some bright spark can do it again...

Previously I managed to get my girlfriend's phone contract cancelled and her mum's slashed in half after Orange changed the terms and conditions of the existing contracts.

My girlfriend has recently had a text stating her bill is set to rise by 4.34%.  Can they legally do this, or does this give her yet another window to null and void the contract?

Nope orange have increased it at a level less than inflation, per the terms and conditions of the contract.

Oddly had this exact conversation with my mum 3 minutes ago. It takes the piss a bit given she's had the contract < 1 year. I think a complaint to Ofcom is about the size of our complaint.

i've complained on the basis my piece of shit HTC never gets 3G anymore, and the rise in price is a pisstake

That's not the point though is it. What wages are going up by has nothing to do with Orange's decision.

I got the same message and I thought little of it. One of those things - stuff goes up in price.

I'm on Orange too, I looked into it. What they've done is pretty much fine but if you berate them and enough people complain to Ofcom then the whole thing will be investigated. You can complain to Orange on the grounds of 'material detriment' and something might happen:

Its 4.34% though, so I'll be paying £36.50 instead of £35, doesn't really bother me personally.

I understand the concept of inflation, but of course it's got something to do with it.  If all mobile phone contracts go up to £200 per month but wages remain static it's not entirely altogether irrelevant...

It's my girlfriend's contract, not mine.  I'm with Vodafone and pay less than half what she does with a similar phone/package, who whilst a bit daft, are just lovely!

My Orange coverage has improved. I also now get 3G when it switches to Orange/T-Mobile.

Thats about 4p a month,besides the point,tell them you are going else where and stick their phone up their arse
