Downloaded a couple of files to 'My Received Files'. Download says its complete, but when I go to 'My Received Files' they are not there. If I go to Firefox and type in the My Received Files location, it shows the files in it and lets me play the audio within them.
Checked on My Computer to show all hidden files, but still no joy.
Help !

From the Firefox download manager, right click on the file and there's an option to open the download folder. You should be able to see where it's saved to then.

Firefox says that it is at:
file:///C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/My Documents/My Received Files/Downloaded File Name
When I go to that file with Windows Explorer it shows a whole lot of files in 'My Received Files' but it doesn't show 'Downloaded File Name'.
P.S. I checked at the back of the sofa already!

Are they stored with your downloads instead?

Have you tried opening the containing folder from within Firefox like Samdy suggested?

Try disabling your antivirus. Are you using AVG version 8.0 by any chance?

This is getting crazier. Now when I use Bit Tornado to download any file to any location, the file link is only visible in Firefox. e.g. I tried to save to desktop and find the file does not display on the Desktop, but I can see it in Fiurefox!
Help!

It sounds like either your AntiVirus or FireFox is screwing with the pc.
Have you tried disabling your AV as suggested?

Tried that to no avail. Am running Zone Alarm ES 10.2.250. Have scanned the folder with both ZA and Antimalwarebites.

Thanks Si. Will read through that with interest. That might be the problem. However, ?I have found a different fix. I've reinstalled Bittornado and have tried to download one of the files again. It hasn't found the original, but it has overwritten in My Received Files and I can see it in Windows Explorer.
Phew!
