for what is worth the WDP is saying Smith will give a decision in 2 days. i take it that means we've got enough money left in the budget for it to happen.

Good news looks like it's being considered then.

I get the impression king is going to push for every last penny and more at the moment  so who knows what's left in the bag if we do sign Smith.

He has said on more than one ocassion he has set aside a budget for loan players but may use that to fund another permanent transfer.

King has said on official site that Smudger has had talks with Derby, Sheffield Weds and now talking to Bristol Rovers.

However, in closing his appraisal of the victory, King also spoke of his 'need' to bring in a strong midfielder with Paul Smith very much in his thoughts.


"I need a Paul Smith in there, without doubt. I spoke to Smith on Wednesday and he has spoken to Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Bristol Rovers so he has options available to him.
