Allan McGregor obviously keen to back me up with recent evidence as to how every keeper makes the odd blunder.

I'm with the Wolfsburg manager who fines his players for un-necessary backpasses. At the end of the day goalkeepers are in goal to save shots from the opposition not to boot it up field as the defender cannot be arsed to because goalies are normally crap outfield players, so expect their kicks to go wrong occasionally. Defenders should boot the ball up the field themselves or kick it into touch.

Id stick with him. Been better than Smith. And besides, his goal celebrations are ace. He loves it.

More questions need to be asked as to how we remained scoreless than one mans mistake.

Everybody who sits next to me at the CG, knows I've been going on about this for years. It's the defences job to clear the ball ... don't pass the buck to the keeper. I still have nightmares about Nicky Hammond's miss-kick at Peterborough after all these years.

TBH the mistake didn't seem that bad when i saw it on TV.  It sounded a complete howler on the radio.

As others have said there's little point dropping Lanzano for one error as we'll inveitably drop Smith the following week.

Burton had Kevin Poole on the bench. I think I'd prefer to see him in goal than Smith.

If he isn't, then I agree, give him a chance.

All we need imo is a gk, cb and lb. Then we're sorted. I think we have enough up front.

I don't think our defence is a problem, as Washbag's stats showed we have one of the least shots against us.
