Managed to chat to Nick Watkins last night about not having any reserve games this season, he said that they're going to be arranging more friendly games, Tottenham and West Ham were a couple of sides he mentioned, (obviously due to the Paolo connection). Wonder which other sides they'd be able to get here, maybe some continental teams, would love to see some Italian or Spanish sides popping over, even if they were reserve sides.

I don't think Saints have any either. It would be interesting to see how many of the league teams field a reserve side in a league.

A work colleague who supports Wycombe told me they haven't got a reserve team either this year
Most reserve games seem to be youth team games with a sprinkling of returning injured players these days

Doesn't the Spanish league close over the winter? Anyway I only said I'd like to see Spanish or Italian sides play here. Anglo Italian cup anyone. (Weren't we the first winners of that competition) |

I wasn't alive back then but having read about this saga on wikipedia, my understanding was as above! Wikipedia says 69 & 70 having just checked it... "The final against S.S.C. Napoli was abandoned after 79 minutes following pitch invasions and a missile barrage, with teargas being employed to allow the teams to return to the dressing room.[7]" |

They'll be plenty of League clubs from all levels willing to arrange behind-close-doors friendlies. I dare say that it's much easier and less hassle to play outside of a league format.
Plus they could, for example, play in 30 minute stints etc.
