Wasn't one of the supposed advantages to Di Canio's appointment that we would be able to attract a better class of player to the club than would otherwise be the case in League 2? So far, I have seen no evidence of this what ever.
Not out & out panic yet, but I thought the squad would at least be taking shape by the end of June...and we're nowhere near that right now. Things need to improve during the next 2 weeks or so. It's been a very average start.

The clear-out hasn't been forgotten. It's the absence of a decent clear-in that's causing most of the concern. And then one of the only players we did want to hold on to clears off to a club that typically gets half the gates we do to better his career...just grates a little.

Clearout yes, but that doesn't mean everyone. He was below par in a struggling team last season. For me he is still the best central midfielder we have had in a long long while. He was too good and probably too expensive for league 2. So not a big surprise. |
