Anyone else heard that next season we will not be getting season ticket books but season ticket cards like the old days (I have an old STFC Membership card form 1986 at home) that you swipe to get into the ground?

I know the club tried some barcode scanning thing for online purchases a couple seasons ago. Heard rumours that the club are getting electronic ticket readers for season tickets added to the turnstyles this year? Haven't read it anywhere though?

Watkins definitely 100% mentioned this ages ago, but I assumed they ditched the idea when no more was said.

Oooh, snazzy if true.

Seems to make sense then you just scan your card if you have 100% red or whatever memberships as well as they were all offered together with the season tickets so it works on the same principle as a bus pass really, its loaded with your season ticket then your memberships etc on top. Card is used in the club shop it deducts the 10% when scanned making service quicker I suppose?

Hope so. Those books piss me off and are a nuisance. Would rather have a card I can just put in my wallet.

If i remember correctly the cards were pulled because they were easy to copy and there were a fair amount of "rogue" season tickets around.

It's the future im afraid, in a few years all grounds will have entry by card or having to scan a barcode on a ticket.

and you had to hand it to an actual human being on the turnstile.  They wont appreciate the old days as they park up their hover boards outside the ground and a robot steward directs them to the floating stand.
