Another thing I like about this double signing is that it was done before anyone knew anything about it. No leaks or anyone stringing things out.

Had hoped we might buy someone from a higher level but suppose this is what we must expect now we are down there. No way DiCanio had a clue who these guys are perhaps his input will come with the choice of goal scorers. Important that we get this right.

Poor old Barnet weren't aware either according to their website:

Quote
Barnet were unaware of his decision to join the relegated club, although Swindon had recently asked about the player.

Lots of opinions about Smith on here...

http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/sport/9081048.York_City_midfielder_Jonathan_Smith_joins_Swindon_for___30_000/E8D7E472C99C1A1B6327&cookieid=79595&noscr=false&CookieCheck=2011-06-13T20:14:24/

mostly very positive

This will do for me...

"He is box to box and full of energy. Not the most creative in the world but tackles hard, wins the ball and does a great job in the midfield."

Horses for courses and all that. Yes

Some comments on Devera here...

...mostly positive mixed in with a few sour grapes...they seem to think of him as a centre half more than a full back Hmmm

Ive heard huddersfield have hijacked both deals.  They've deicded they have enough forwards with the 27 on their books at the moment and now want some other players.

I reckon the big name signing is gonna be a trick.

They've already given Di Canio the no 10 shirt.....

Probably waiting for Di Canio to come back or this Italian defender to sign...

...and if it isn't Cannavaro there's going to be trouble.

If the new John Smith is half as good as the old one,we'll be lucky.
