The far left and far right meet in the middle. Imagine the spectrum as a circle rather than a straight line and it makes more sense.

I tried that.

But was then left wondering why they are so opposed to each other.

The way he writes makes me think its Dorset. Certainly has a bit of a bee in his bonnet, whoever it is.
Nothing to do with me.
I have made my point. I have contacted the club. I have written to Di Canio himself. Now it's time to let the man get on with the job. I won't be there to see it but I'll be very happy to renew my season ticket and go back to the County Ground once he's gone.

I am bewildered at the naivety of those people on the forums who think that fascism is in any way an OK ideology. I also find it incredible that people seriously think the straight armed "Roman" salute is ok, as if the events of the twentieth century can be set to one side. However, I'll say no more.

Needless to say, I've had no reply from either the club OR Mr Di Canio. Having said that, I was moderately encouraged by Nick Watkins' latest comments and at least it seems there are particular expectations from the club about Di Canio's conduct in future.

Do you have any interest in the England side? Genuine question, I'm more uneasy with di Canio's views than most (although I will still be going to games) but reading up a little, Capello has also said things in praise of Franco and supposedly voted Fascist in Italy, but there's been very little uproar over that, perhaps because he's a little more intelligent with it. I think it's simply got to be accepted that Italian Politics is not quite as centre-ground as ours and a lot of Italian footballers will be extreme one way or the other, publically or otherwise.

Appreciate you don't want to be dragged into a debate once again, but just something I'd wondered.

I don't really have any great interest in the England side. I get very little pleasure out of watching a bunch of overpaid premier league prima donnas underperforming time after time.

And what did you write to di canio?

I asked him about his views on the anti-Semitic policies of Benito Mussolini and the modern Italian fascist movement. I also asked how he would encourage my Jewish firends to renew their season tickets.
I was very polite and put nothing in my letter which would cause a reasonable person any sort of offence.

Nothing to do with me.
I've just read SwindonTommy's blog and have to say I am in broad agreement with him/her. Tommy is clearly very angry (as am I) and I can see nothing in what he or she has written that is untrue.
Well done Tommy.

No offence but lets hope he bins it and gets on with more important things like signing players and winning League Two.

So you don't think the manager of a club owes any duty to the supporters (who have been with the club far longer than he has or ever will be) or has any part to play in public relations?

The managers duty to the supporters is to get us promoted.

Fuck politics.

Surely the types of managers who disregard the views of supporters end up being branded "arrogant and/or ignorant" in the same way as Andy King and Steve McMahon?
What do you REALLY want your managers to do when it comes to relationships with the fans?

Steve McMahon did that and "the fans" ended up hating him. Footy fans are a fickle bunch.

Steve McMahon was not hated at all when we went up.

Fickle, yeah. But that's to do with football, not politics.

So what was it that made people hate McMahon? (and yes, I know it wasn't politics)
