So what is everyone doing this summer?

My girlfriend is going on 'holiday' without me as I will be stuck on night shifts at work. We're planning a long weekend near Tenby in Pembrokeshire - anyone been?

Pembrokeshire is ace for walking, Tenby is a tidy little resort, but not much happens. I'm guessing that's how you like it.

My fave memory of Tenby was taking the expectant missus...into an intimate restaurant, ordering what seemed decent grub, when the chef ran out in a Fawlty Towers type incident.  The owner was terribly apologetic, and cooked us pork chops, as that was all he could manage Smiley

Which reminds me the chef in Les Chats has done a runner with one of the waitresses....why isn't fB stepping into the breech.

I had my 'Summer' holiday in April over the pond.

This summer I have a short break to visit family in Scotland after going to T in the Park.

Might go for a week in Wantage in August.

Rock and Roll.

I've been skint since what seems to be the beginning of time. Starting to get back on track though so a trip to Koh Samet is on the cards in the not too distant future.

Had a great week on a farm in Devon over Easter, off to Spain in August for 2 weeks. Having a bit of decent weather always makes me look forward to a holiday more than it pissing down with rain. August seems miles away though.

Oakwood was mentioned earlier - I remember going down a slide there on a plastic sledge type thing. It was a very steep drop that flattened out at the end as you skimmed over some water to slow you down. At the top the attendant said something to me which I didnt quite hear. I later found out that she said "make sure you lean forward as you get to the bottom". Unfortunately I leaned backwards, and managed to do a full 180 backward flip and land fully clothed in the water. As well as being a tad embarrassed, I was more pissed off that there was no bastard filming it for You've Been Framed !

where bouts in corfu you going?

Kavos, on a uni reunion kind of thing, clinging on to my youth! Been there once before as an 18 year old and it was a shit hole but great fun, expecting it to be very similar this year but not sure I'm similar enough to my 18 yo self to enjoy it. Should be interesting either way.

Oakwood is great, I'd definitely recommend going on Hydro. http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/news/Hundreds-risk-fatal-ride/article-558689-detail/article.html

love koh samet. I was the only bloke without a young thai bridge when I went there, but beautiful nonetheless.

Gonna do some uk camping this summer, devon and jurassic coast, then hit new york in september.

Kavos is quality, but like you say, its a shithole.

Our hotel was next to the strip club Smiley

my first lads holiday was to Kavos... i've had the bad judgement to tick off Malia, Faliraki, and Ayia Napa in my youth and would have to say kavos was the shittiest of all those shitholes. still a good laugh though. Napa was the best, and not so grimey (and the exchange rate with the Cypriot pound made it a bargain)

I think the fact that I'm fully aware it's a shit hole will make me just tear it up for a week and ignore the fact I'm surrounded by 17 year old Bolton fans
