Ahh Hull, I'm actually going up there next week for graduation week - party central.
First off, what are you into music wise, and bar wise?

First off, what are you into music wise, and bar wise? Music wise I am not really fussed, from cheese on toast pop to indie to dance, anything that isn't hip hop I guess! Bar wise, again, fairly flexible, would rather avoid poncey wine bars if possible!

Well my favourite place to go out on a Friday is a club called the Piper - it's a Scream club, with a Scream pub just up the road.
On a Friday night the Piper has it's weekly Indie night - which is pretty good. I'm going to check with a mate who is still up there tonight whether it's still on.
The pub is called the Hayworth Arms and is pretty big - if you know anyone with a yellow card you should get hold of it, makes the drinks cheaper.
If that's your bag you can go to a few more bars in the area, these are all down Beverley Road, there is a Weatherspoons (where I used to work) and a Hogs-Head down that way, and a huge pub called the Mainbrace, but I wouldn't recommend that place too highly - good for Sunday footie watching though.
Not sure what it will be like in terms of busyness, as this area is near where all the students live, so it might be a bit quiet. The pubs along Bev Road will be fairly busy still, but I'm not sure about the club.
Another option is Old Town, there are some decent bars around there.
Finally you can give George Street a go, which has a club - Pozition - at the end, never went at the weekend though, so no idea what it is like, Dazzza I believe has been there too. The bars along George Street all look OK, but again not really ventured that way at the weekends, only student nights in the week.
Unfortunately our student nightclub in the union was good enough for us all to go there rather too much, so I don't really have extended knowledge of weekend pubbing in town.
Basically my main advice would be to avoid Lexington Avenue (LAs) at all costs.
As I say I'm going to speak to a mate later, so I can let you know what is going on up there at the moment.

Cheers mate, much obliged! Will take your advice on board. Weatherspoons and Hogshead in Edinburgh are ok, so will use that as a start off point.
