My aim is to learn to drive within the next year How long on average does it take these days lesson wise and time wise? And any past learners out there got any advice on who to use etc. Ta

Become a drug dealer, get your instructor to become a customer, bingo! 12 lessons, cost £40 odd quid, pass first time (That was 1991 so prices may have gone up)

I've got a couple of contacts at the DVLA through work but as of yet haven't been able to get a full driving licence with out taking any lessons!

Took me six weeks, but I'm talented.
If you have 4 hours a week (two 2 hour lessons) you'll get through it pretty quickly, and cheaper in the long run.

Im taking lessons at the moment, 21 quid an hour, and i do 2 hour lessons, normally twice a week, but im slow learning, iv had 16 lessons (32 hours) and im not there yet.... ah well

Mine's 22 an hour and I've had 15 lessons, but I drive at home in my car (with parents) My test is in 5 weeks
