On my way home from work today I passed 20 or so lamp posts that had either a ring of white powder (possibly flour) around the base, or a small pile of white powder placed at the base.

Seem to be marking out something or other. Do I follow them to score some crack?

O, so a quick search reveals it could be

1. Marking out a hash route.
2. Ant powder
3. Cocaine (insert Charlie Sheen joke here).

Simple. All the lamp posts have a case of light dandruff

What is a hash route?

Hashing is a sort of run following a marked trail.

I found one end of the route quite by accident on my usual route to work.

There was a 'T' in white powder next to the lamp post.
