I did a couple of shows with John Grant (my second favorite last year 40 plus male hiv positive singer songwriter).  This icelandic scamp was supporting and I was particularly taken by this song but couldnt work out if it was because the lyrics were icelandic which somehow made it sound magical.  Well now John Grant has rewritten the lyrics in English and they've re recorded it.  Still cant understand a fucking word, but its still lovely.

And Elbows new single.  Predictably lovely ruminations from the Garv.  Nice soppy video as well.

Alternatively, my main job is called promoters representative.  I work mostly for 2 big promoters, SJM Concerts and Live Nation.  Organise the gigs for them.  In venues from 100 to 20,000 and work on festivals as well.  Just making sure everything runs smoothly.  Paperwork, accounts, riders, ticketing, making sure the gigs run properly.

Occasionally I also work as a tour manager (have done Billy Bragg, Kula Shaker, Mystery Jets and VV Brown over the last 5 years or so) and Production Manager (have done Megadeth, Biffy Clyro and Enter shikari).

So yes I work with loads of different acts.

Part of the job must be in relation to quality control of groupies?

Nah.  I get to look at them.  I have the same relationship with groupies as I do with the classic artwork.  I can appreciate its beauty from every angle, the framing, even from behind.  Just wouldn't want it in my house.

One for the metalheads - the barman in my local sings for these:

They are great live - had a slot supporting Sepultura recently.

Number of views would indicate you've probably already seen this great cover version:

But have you seen the brilliant parody?
