And at least every other side in the League won't have a game in hand on us. Restores the balance of ours being the only game played last weekend. Karma, innit?

Probably saved us a dicking tbh. As morale must be low. At least give us some time to get back into the (erratic) groove.

Agreed with Sutton this could be a blessing, Oldham are undefeated at home and flying high whilst we are indifferent to say the least.  By the time the game is re-arranged we might have found some form and they may be having a dip in form so the game may be more winnable.  Our next game is home to Tranmere as well so good chance to build on the Wednesday win with another 3 points.

I've always wondered why they simply don't swap the fixtures in these scenarios.

I expect our ground would probably be ok, so what would stop us playing Oldham at home on Sat, and then away in April instead?! Is it ticket related (i.e. would get lower gates by changing fixtures at the last second)?

Suppose they can do no corporate sales for the day, no sponsorship for the match or programmes and plus arranging the stewarding at late notice would be challenging as well.

Hardly anyone would go for a start. Those not going to the away game would have other plans. And no one would travel from Oldham. +  organising police, stewards, catering, prgramme etc etc etc.

Gives us valuable time to practice not being shit.

And as Im back and going to matches again as of the 18th, that is a good thing.

I'm happy that its off.

Really wasnt looking forward to it. Might do the team some good, although it will probably make no difference at all!

I think the break will do the team good. I hope they will view the game after the break as a chance to make a clean start because it will make them a lot more psycologically prepared than they would have been going away to Oldham tomorow

We should rearrange it for Sat Jan 8th.

We're supposed to be at Leyton Orient that day but they are in the FA cup still. I assume Oldham are out as well..
