Like him or loathe, he had two great radio shows on late-night Radio 2. Apparently he walked because they wouldn't give him an earlier slot.

Ah well...

His official line was that Radio two was playing less and less offbeat music....dont like him much though his late shows were brilliant.....like the old rockabilly, skiffle etc.
Also didn't realise how good Hank Williams was till hearing him on his shows.

Steve Wright looks well Rich?

I'm sure he'll eventually get a 6music show where he can actually play what he wants.

Don't forget how committed to non mainstream music the BBC are...

Steve Wright looks well Rich?

Considering he was sentenced to hang in the 1980's, he looks very well indeed.

6Music is a great little station, threatening to close it has done wonders for its listener numbers as well. I flipped it on the other day after a Town game and Jon Holmes was playing XTC, excellent.

6music is an amazing station, great during the day and then some great themed stuff during the evenings. Also Adam and Joe are back on christmas day.

The amount we get out of the licence fee puts sky subscribers to shame.

I imagine Mark Lamarr would indeed fit into 6Music.

God's Jukebox was a brilliant show as was Shake Rattle and Roll and his Reggae Show. Boo-Hiss.

I went to Park with him between 81 and 83. He lived on Whitbourne Avenue.

In the last few weeks alone, the Ashes and Ryder Cup in HD puts paid to your theory.
