I have an exam at a centre two miles from M4 J11 at 9.30 tomorrow morning. I need to be there around 15-30 mins before the exam.

What time would it be wise to leave?

Where abouts in Swindon do you live? It affects the journey time a lot.

I work nr J11 and do the journey every day! I leave Stratton at 7:40am and get to my work about 8:45-8:50. Though not sure how the snow will affects things tomorrow etc?

Is that the other side of Reading? Oracle junction? I reckon just over an hour, but with the weather I'd give it 1hr 30.

About 2 minutes from J16.

Do you have to travel far into Reading? or is it right near junction 11? Personally I'd leave at 8 if it were me, but seeing as it's important maybe leave a touch earlier (like 7:40) and get there early and just mill about.

I'm working from home today, so not sure how the snow affected the travel today!

Where exactly in Reading?  Two miles from J11 could be fairly near the town centre...in which case you would be nuts not to take the train.  Reading traffic can be terrible.

No, it's not in Reading town centre at all. As I leave the M4 I'll be heading in the other direction towards Basingstoke. God knows why they decided to put an exam centre on a small trading estate.

In which case you'll be fine.  The roadworks on J11 itself are almost complete now.  (The junction is now a bit of beast...many more lanes than there used to be.)  But you'll get through it in no more than 5 mins I expect.

Good luck with the exam.

Traffic builds up badly at j12 particularly if there is an accident which there will be. I'd leave at 7.30. You'll probably get there very early but better safe than sorry
