£450 for a brand new laptop in a box that is unopened isn't second hand. Also I can install office 2007 Pro , which alone is over £100. So a rip off? I think not.

Think you need reality check with the price. You can buy it new for £450 and get £75 cash back from HP, making it £375. Not sure Office Pro 2007 sweetens the deal much, not many people will need the Pro version and Office 2010 is out.
