And we got stiffed on the Wayne Rooney question. We were right, it was Portland in Oregon (where Nike Town is), and not Seattle where he went training on his own a month ago, so that cost us two points.

Nike, Inc. is a major publicly traded sportswear and equipment supplier based in the United States. The company is headquartered near Beaverton, Oregon, which is part of the Portland metropolitan area.

As I remember it, DonRogersShop was touted as a possible answer to one of the questions.

Any guesses what the question was?

Who is a stalwart of the TEF and respected by THE FLASH?

In cricket, what does DRS stand for?

It was the new Decision Replay System.

Some stupidly ambiguous/contentious/unclear questions in there last night:

Which animal is the fastest on the planet?
Which vegetable is 98% water?
What was the name of the boat that won the first America's Cup?

Which animal is the fastest on the planet? You'd have thought Peregrine falcon mighty be the answer
Which vegetable is 98% water?  cucumber must be a shout.
What was the name of the boat that won the first America's Cup? I'd be surprised if anyone got that....if they did, they were using an i-phone.

Indeed.  Peregrine Falcon was right, but a fair few would have put cheetah due to the wording of the question being 'animal' and 'on the planet'.

Is a cucumber a vegetable?  Or a fruit?  Does the question mean vegetable in the 'Animal, Vegetable or Mineral' sense, or the common idea of a vegetable?

And the America's Cup winner was America - "hence the name of the race" was the explanation.  Well surely then the name came after the win?  We almost put America 1, but discarded it on this basis.

It's more down to poor wording of the question leaving things open to interpretation (internet/world wide web) which annoyed me.  Not that it made any difference as we weren't close to the winners, but still.

Always give the answer you think is wanted....so cucumber is commonly thought of as veg, even though technically a fruit....

The first winner of the America's Cup...couldn't be America...which won some other trophy, but America is the desired answer.
