Maybe I just went on a bad night. Nobody in my group of 13 thought it was anything more than average.

HK97 get a zero star rating from the council hygiene checks every year  No No

Curry cottage is what it is, an ok curry but nothing amazing. I cant see what the fuss is that's all.

imo the best takeaway curry you can get in swindon, but was a tounge in cheek comment.

i think the key to a good curry house is the notible differences in their curry dishes.most place's curries seem to all taste the same whatever you've ordered from the menu, but curry cottages are all very different and how it should be.

Not found a better curry takeaway than Curry Cottage myself. Only tried a few in the area mind.

Agree with Arriba, a good Chinese takeaway is hard to find. Best in these parts seems to be Emporer's kitchen, but its merely above average for Swindon.

Is that good or bad? Seems to me it could be either.

my parents swear by HK97 in west swindon

Didn't they get shut down for a while a few years back for some major health code violations?

arriba...............its not where you go.its when you go and what you order.
We have some good Chinese restaurants in Swindon and they all have there good/bad points.
Go to Marks and Sparks gets some nice food and a good bottle of red/white........and you still will have change from a twenty pound note.

I recently discovered http://www.just-eat.co.uk/ and decided to try a few different places of late. Have a look on there. Most Chinese takeaway does seem much of a muchness though.

Has anyone eaten at the Taj Mahal restaurant in West Swindon? Keep meaning to give that a go.
