Plasma is no good for fast changing pictures i.e. gaming or watching football. An LCD will always out perform a plasma in this area. They're also liable to screen burn. If you'll be using it as a monitor, then LCD is the way to go.

If you'll mostly be watching SD content, then I'd go for the plasma. I can only assume Ralphy is a flid and didn't attempt to change the settings to get the best picture.

Also, screen burn is virtually non existant in modern plasma screens and they are generally thought to be the best for watching fast moving content such as football.

So you're the one talking crap.

Don't believe me? Look on avforums

But as pointed out, you'll struggle to find a 32" plasma. But the point is there are good and bad plasmas and good and bad LCDs/LEDs. Even between models from the same manufacturer!

Hence I stand by what I said - set a budget (or minimum feature set) then do your research.

One last point out of interest, if you are looking to hook it up to a laptop, is that for watching movies/etc or is it for actually using it as a monitor?

Sorry, I did get mixed up between Plasma being better than LCD for response times, but I'd had about 8 cans of Strongbow when I posted last night.

I still maintain that if you sent a TV back because the picture was crap then you must be a flid Wink

how i made my choice was by shortlising some tv's and googling the model numbers.this lead to reviews which included threads on avforums.
once i'd decided on the one i wanted i then set about finding the best price for it by again searching online.

It will be for used for watching movies, tv shows etc. Im off to an electrical store now to have a closer look and get some info. I think it will be cheaper to buy online and have it delivered though. I also think it will be cheaper in the uk than over here. Everything seems to be cheaper back home. 8 mach3 razor blades over here cost 19 euros!!!

Not sure that will help. When I looked round in stores the setup on the tv's and picture feed was so shit it made it impossible to get any idea as to how good each set was. I just got some advice online then winged it.

True, but they'll happily sell you a Monster (tm) HDMI lead for £50 and an extended warranty for half the price of the TV. Ripofftastic.

In which case if you are looking for as cheap a deal a possible don't get hung up on getting a full 1080 resolution. Most are these days but on a 32" screen I reckon it would be hard to tell the difference to a 768 line screen unless you sit < 6-8 feet away!

Samsung UE-32 C 6000 RWXZG

This is one that has  been recommended by the store. It is 621 pounds in Munich. I have found it online for 488 pounds.

Can anyone tell me if its any good/worth the cash? Thanks
