Why are seatbelts needed by law on aeroplanes and cars...........but you can hurtle along at 125 mph on a train without them.
It isn't important...it isn't playing on my mind.....but why?

Wikipedia says they were investigated but the research found them to cause more severe injuries.

Presumably if they made seatbelts compulsary, they'd have to prevent standing on trains and thus count people on and off.

Why is it that you are not classed as an adult until 18 but get charged full rates in other places from 14/15 upwards....?
