Almost the end of the month, September was a good month for us compared to August 5 games 3 wins 1 draw and 1 defeat ,most teams and supporters would be happy with this
Going Forward if we have the same return in October then we will climb up the league we have 5 league games including 2 local derby's and a winnable cup game
Lets be positive

I think we look terribly blunt up top without him -goals are coming, and look more likely to come, from midfield. Buit to turn that into a positive, we've struggled to score from midfield in recent seasons so its good to see that changing.

And who else was impressed with Rose's contribution yesterday? Or was it just me...? I feel less worried about Sheehan being potentially injured now, though wish him a speedy recovery all the same.

I do think that goals will goals will come from more areas than last season which will make up for the loss of paynter's goals and as soon as charlie is back, or we get a poacher loanee in, we'll have the clinical tap ins we've missed over the last few games.

i seem to remember we were 11 points out of the play offs on boxing day in the 03/04 season and i think this team is more than capable of getting on a really good run once we're up to full strength.

And of course last season we didn't even begin to hit our best form until just before Christmas. Loads of time to go yet.

Having just complained on the Tuesday night thread about all the negativity, I am very glad to read this thread.  Thanks Bassett Boy!!

Can't say I came out of the game Tuesday too concerned. We lost because we showed ambition to go for the win. Tired ourselves out and paid the price.

S'all good.

3 points off the playoffs and 5 off autos. That's just fine.

Anybody up for positives this morning?

I'm focusing on Tuesday...opportunity to try out a few different things, as we'll have a thin looking squad.

Also, should be an opportunity for the Arkell's faithful to abuse Lloyd Macklin in an opposition shirt rather than an STFC shirt....the presence of Penhill boy Zebroski, who wore the yellow rag, but did miss a play off pen for them might be interesting.

We're still only 4 points off the play offs, it's a tight league. If we can turn our form around a rise up the division would be feasible.

We only lost a point on the top 6?! Fucking hell this league is shocking this year.

Would like to see Billy Bodin start on Tuesday. I'd also like to see Dossevi on the left as there's less chance he'll get caught offside.

Yeah, I thought on the whole Rose did quite well.

With the squad so thin at the moment, I reckon it's worth giving Thompson, Evans and Bodin a start. Need to give them some game time for experience and to see if they're ready or not, plus it will help avoid any potential injuries or suspensions.
