We broke our horrendous run without a win 99/00 at home midweek against huddersfield, before going on to beat charlton at the weekend.

My first memory of Hudders, was turning them over 4-1 in 64....front 3 of Summerbee, Ernie Hunt, and Rogers each scoring. Have we ever had a stronger frontline? Trouble was we were a bit dodgy elsewhere, but on a given day we could destroy sides....Derby went for 4 the following week.
Another memory was beating them in 69/70....they won the league, Frank Worthington was their stand out player, he was part of a whole generation of talented English players, who basically wasted their careers due to English football's insularity.

I like the reaction of the Huddersfield fans, especially the guy in the red(ish) jumper who goes bananas at the first 3 goals. When the 4th one is scored, he looks like he's about to walk out of the ground!

Interesting that he commented on the lowest gate of the season. Looked and remember it being pretty busy. Must have been one of the fiddles.

The real pleasure of stuffing Udders 6-0 was that their manager was one Brian Horton
The gleeful chanting that night was
Cheer up Brian Horton Oh what can mean to a sad Oxford bastard with a shit football time
and repeat

strange one that one - 'udders fans doing a conga to celebrate winning a corner on the bank and the old man and i walking out after the game feeling like we'd lost after a 6-0 romping because we'd gone completely flat after the 6th when we thought some sort of record could have been posted.
oh well, good days, walters was fantastic - has loads of bikes too after always winning motm in the league cup
