Just got back (live in Soton).

Ferry made the difference today, he ran around the whole pitch and put pressure on their players.  He needs to start along side either Dougie or Prutton.

Still think we look shakey in defence.  The two cb's had good games, but Amankwaah was a bit shakey.

Pericard did well upfront but i still think people will moan about him in the future.  His problem is that he wont chase after every ball.  When he scores no one cares.  However when hes on a goal-less drought, people pick up on his lack of work ethic.

Overall happy with the result and display.  Would like the same team on sat except replace Amankwaah with Caddis and Prutton for Dougie (unless Dougie is fit)

Prutton would spend half the time worrying about where douglas's shadow is and not really concentrating on the game!

I don't think Prutton would be AS bad if he played with Ferry, he can then do what he's been trying to do all season and dictate the play.

That's true about Prutton i think half the problem with douglas and prutton is they are both very simalar players. I said when we signed him that he is a poor mans douglas and that hasn't changed imo. If they are not playing alongside eachother in a basic 2 in the middle i think he will be ok.

yes he would because he would have no one to hide behind and would be totally exposed to all sorts.

You watch the character flaws stream to the surface then.

With Dougie playing so close to him thus far he has been able to deflect the blame.

He will not like it one iota having to stand on his own to feet and battle, rather than walking around preening himself thinking that we all have a hard on over him

i think prutton does well when the game is stretched and there's space to move into, where as when there's 4 midfielders and then 4 defenders in front of him he looks a bit confused and tries stupidly over the top passes.

him and ferry could work but the only constant i'd have is ferry

The TEF certainly cared tonight, the server went down in the excitement.  Grin

No chance of Caddis playing on Saturday, he's in the Scotland under 21s squad

What if dougie is fit on Saturday and Wilson still picks Prutton and Douglas in the middle.

Would we start to think Wilson and Prutton have more than a manager/ player relationship?

I wouldn't change the back line. First clean sheet and all that.

Carlisle is more important but it's absolutely brilliant that

1) We won.
2) Pericard has got his goals.
3) Fringe players got a run out and seemingly did alright

Hopefully this will kick-start our season.

Good night!
