I do not have the time to read through every thread on here
No, but this is a thread about Hartlepool vs Swindon. Whilst the TEF has a great tradition of threads going way off track, did it not seem a bit out of place to have a moan about our prospects for the season in a thread specifically designed for discussion about one particular match?

I think we'll scrape a win today. That's all we need to do, just get 3 points on the board.

I'd go:

Lucas

Amankwaah
Cuthbert
LJF
Caddis

JPM
Ferry
Dougie
Dossevi

Pericard
Austin

It doesn't have to be pretty. We just need to stop the rot. In truth i'd probably take a point up there today.

We're far from the "must win" stage, but matches like this were where we really grinded out results last season, the true mark of a successful team. An ugly win would do me nicely.

I've got the last two results right and with our fragile confidence and poor mental attitude(at present) I see another defeat.  Can't see where the goals are coming from and can't see any clean sheets with Lucas or Smithy in goal.  I hope I'm very wrong.

Problem we have is that we have not adequately replaced the 3 key players in Ward, Paynter, Greer. Consequently the midfield looks too narrow, we are light up front and have no leader at the back.

Until we rectify this do not think we are going to get anywhere close to last years position.

spot on.
why your valid post got the repsonses it did sums this site up a bit.

I think I went for a 1-0 Town win in the predictor.

So I'll go for that. JPM with the winner late on.

Remember how we started last season off not so great too? It's too early to say if those three players will be missed or not.

I've just challenged rob Hartley to get a reference to Paul the octopus in the commentary. Someone let me know if he manages it.
