Cheesy thats all they need. They learn slowly in Bristol it will be like when they signed Marcus Stewert a few years back after his legs had gone. They were paying him £20 grand a week whilst he was sat on the bench on loan and Yeovil. David James legs and brain has gone.

David James is far from past it. Hate to say it but that is a fantastic signing for them.

I agree with DRS, great signing for City.

James can kiss his England career goodbye now though. Although I suppose that's a good thing in a way.

Lack of ambition from James?

I am a bit jealous. If I was a City fan (and I know quite a few) I'd be well chuffed.

This must've taken some seriously hard work and perhaps liberally throwing about the Pounds to get him to sign. Surely a premiership club would've wanted him or even a large Championship team? Cracking signing regardless.

They must be well pleased i know i would if he had came here,He's still looks in good shape despite his age but im a bit surprised he did't stay in the premiership tho,Surely blackpool or someone could have matched the slave traders wages.

I think thats a great signing as well.

The only worry would be he had a fair ammount of injuries last year but I'm a bit dubious how real some of them were - a case of pompey not having to pay large appearance fees perhaps?  When he did play though he's still premier league quailty.

I bet they have to splash a good few quid on a signing on fee and wages

However good he is, I would still think its the end of his days being Englands No.1

At least Joe Hart should get given a run in the team

James lives in Devon and apparently didn't want to move.

Shitty was the only local team to come in for him.

Great signing for the slave traders considering they had Bread Van on trial versus Ajax last pre season!!

I bet the former number 1 keeper is pissed off.

I took great delight on telling my two Celtic supporting Jock mates that they had been snubbed for City.

As much as i dislike City, it really is a quality signing and signals the intent and ambition by their board and management this season. With Coppel at the help, i'd be very surprised if they didn't make Play-Offs at least.
