Good luck to you Chalkie.  Which area did you work in?  I've been at Nationwide for 10 years also and I know what you mean about how things have changed.  I've been through 3 major restructures in the last 3 years and although I've kept my job each time, lots of friends have mine haven't and some of them were treated quite poorly through the whole redundancy thing.

Only just seen this - fair play to you.

My contract has recently changed so I have a two month notice period, if I get sent away for work in another lengthy period I plan to hand in my notice there and then. But I'd be confident of getting something lined up in that time, even if it was temp work on similar pay to what I'm earning now. I don't think I'd have the balls to have too much uncertainty over the future, I hope it works out.

We should have a proper TEF trades directory. The Red Pages or something. I'm sure we all have unique and valuable skills. Mostly involving alchohol.

That's actually quite a good idea!
Oh and Thanks one F in Fitton

I don't think they are replacing me - not enough work to do so at the mo!
