You don't have to like it for it to be considered important, or even good. I reckon he's allright myself, just not my cup of tea.

I'm not a huge fan but I like the song with Rhianna I think it's very powerful given the subject matter

I don't like rap music at all, but I quite like Eminem oddly enough. I got a couple of his tracks on my ipod, might try his new album, cheers.

Eminem is a fucking genius. He took a bit of a nosedive on Encore, some funny tunes on there, but his more serious stuff has always been, edgier and generally alot better.
Still haven't heard the new album, but I'll definitely get it, judging by other Eminem fans responses.

i can't think of any,but in no way think enema is anywhere near that status. beastie boys did what he did years ago.
Beastie Boys didn't hit the mainstream anywhere near as much as Eminem has and aren't as good lyrically either. Eminem has done more for rap music than any other artist in the sense that he was the first white rapper with real lyrical talent which made hip hop accessible to everybody, ie the white middle classes, which = $$$$$ and rap music now a common place in the Top 40, etc. Personally I think he is brilliant though the Slim Shady Lp and Marshall Mathers Lp are by far the best albums. To be honest they have been getting steadily worse each album since then but so far I am really liking the new one so hopefully he's back on the up

There's no doubt that Eminem has sold more records and writes a little better, but the Beastie Boys did it before him (1986 to Eminem's 1999) so they have to be recognised as the pioneers in that respect - there is no finer example of bringing hip hop to the white middle classes than the Beasties, who are white, middle class, Jewish!

Very similar to Ginginho - to me 90% of rap just sounds the same, with everyone seemingly just copying those that have gone before them, and are scared to try anything different. I'm sure there are other examples - I'm very happy to admit that rap isn't a genre that I know too much about, because like I said, most of it is drivel.
Eminem is one of the innovative few, and was brave enough to offer something a little outside the box, thus making him stand out and actually be worth listening to. And he comes across as a genuine, humble & likeable bloke - good on him.

His set at T in the park was delayed by 45 minutes as he wasn't willing to walk 20 yards on muddy ground to get his trainers dirty. They had to hire a bus to pick him up to drive him the small distance to the stage. Ersehole.

Brilliant album, particularly his collaberations with female artists for some of the songs. Back to his best after the disappointing Relapse album.
Completely agree - love this album and not normally a massive fan of rap in general.

You're recommending rap music to people who don't like rap music? I would suggest they would be better off trying music of another genre.
