Hardly surprising... £250,000 isn't enough for the club to consider it (even if that is his worth). Plus, Brighton probably didn't benefit from a player at a club where he is...

1) A guarenteed starter.

2) Captain.

3) Happy.

If I was Gordon Greer, I'd be seriously hacked off if I knew that Brighton were the only club to come in for me after the blinding season he's just had with us.  It would be like being back at school and hearing on the grapevine that someone fancied you...only top learn it was the fat lass with buck teeth at the back of the class who bears more than a passing resemblance to Bella Emberg.

Well, if I recall that Leeds service station correctly...

So where are these stories coming from? His agent? Could it be he does want a move away?

Only club to come in for him YET.

I don't think it is these stories, just that Sky's idea of "news" stories for lower leagues is just to regurgitate wholesale any old crap a week or so late, making it look like it's new story when it's actually just the same bullshit that was roundly dismissed as bullshit a week ago everywhere else. e.g. the other thread re Charlie Austin where they've re-run the Adver's story from a week ago.

Having knocked back Tony's verbal offer what is the point of putting it in writing if it not going to go any further. It a complete waste of time, money, paper and ink !

Is exectly what I thought when I read it.

I am wondering if the player is likely to want to go if he knows we are interested, and their Chairman is trying to play down the situation. Also, I believe, some players have clauses that their Agent must be advised about offers etc., and they are trying to stop the matter going any further.

Obviously, the differing valuations is normal, and only to be expected.

The one thing that you could never ever call Fitton is a "pratt".

It's amusing to still see that others clubs fans, especially from L1, still cannot get their collective
heads around the fact that our Board are very, very professional in their good business practices.

Long may it continue!

I'd be shocked if Greer wanted to leave us to go to Brighton tbh.

Brighton must be one of these really really piss poorly run clubs who accept spoken bids for their players?
