I assume you tried the 3 pronged reset (unplugging it)?

I guess if that and the satcure advice doesn't work you are down to trying your box on someone elses dish, or their box on yours.

You could always play cancellation chicken with Sky. Threaten to cancel as you can't afford the repair fee right now, they put you through to the cancellations dept who may well offer a free service call. Or may actually cancel the account!

Yes Batch, tried all the suggestions above before enduring the pain that is ringing Sky. Went from tech support to customer services then back to technical support and then through to 'Graeme at turnaround cancellations'.

£60 for an engineer to come out and and install a new sky+ HD box, no subscription charges. I'm happy.

Her indoors is moaning she'll miss 24 on Sunday night. What a fucking shame.

Thanks again.

Nice, are they giving you any HD content. I had heard some people got 12 months free HD subs!

No, just the free box. Still cheaper than a call out though which is good.

Yeah very good, and the video on demand launches sometime which only the HD box will support (apparently).

Plus if you have a HD TV to benefit from it then BBC HD, ITV HD and C4 HD are all free.

Just doing a bit of dusting in the lounge, as you do of a Sunday, and noticed a lead I hadn't spotted before hanging out the back of the Sky box.

Seems to be working fine now. Ahem  Embarrassed

Will see tomorrow when the engineer comes!

I got to watch 24 though.  That is all that matters.
