Wanting to do something to get back in shape.
instead of the usual crap of going to the gym i'm thinking of joining a boxing club. :shock:

People have said it's a great way to tone up etc and also learn how to rip someones nose off if you ever wanted too :box:

Anyone ever joined one and whats it like???

A friend of one of my kids took it up. used to go to the gym at the back of the CGH, got a wack on the head and had internal bleeding, had to give up boxing but also football for a long while, because he couldn't head the ball....missed the cup final when the team they played for got to play at the CG in a local league final.

 Not something I'd recommend.

My mate was a hardcore boxing dude and spent 8 years in the gym. Fucking hard as nails and butch as fuck, even though he dont do it any more. i want to get into it and my mate has hardly put me off, he says he would recommmend it to anyone

I was thinking of taking up boxing, 'cos I like punching people anyway and I'm good at it.

Dunno though I thought I might get one of those punchbag things first or I could get some frozen meat and use that instead.

Despite being a skinny little fucker I did boxing for a couple of years and I was in great shape and almost very nearly had a 6 pack going on....

It depends what it is you do, as this was alot of fitness and some boxing but it worked.

With regards to getting fit, its not always what you do but how regulary you do it...

Boxing is brilliant for fitness, although I've never joined a gym.  Always used to spar with mates(normally just open fist, a tap on the forehead being a head shot), and it always leaves you exhausted.  Teaches you very quickly how to keep your guard and pick your punches.

I shall be snowboarding for 5 months come the end of this year.  My thighs will be huge, and I reckon i'll get super fit by the end.

Carrying a crate of booze for 15 minutes was enough exercise for me this week. My arms are aching something chronic today :|
