There's nothing more disappointing than someone who's let Charmander -> Charmeleon -> Charizard evolution chain happen too early. You learn the higher level moves much earlier if you cancel Charmander evolving until level 50 or so. |

Yeah, I didnt know that during my first pokemon red game though.
Which I reckon I still have with a naturally evolved level 100 Charizard. When I played Yellow I kept the evolutions to a minimum.

I might have to hunt down my Pokemon Blue now and have a game. I've got a gameboy player on my gamecube which is pretty cool.
Both Squirtle and Bulbasaur are better starting options anyway to be fair.
