Unless Swindon town centre has improved considerably in the past four years it should be nuked and rebuilt.

Ummm...it has effectively been nuked, CR. Vast swathes have been modelled on Bomber Harris's boys outings to Dresden.

'Should be rebuilt' is another matter. Probably never or at least not in my lifetime.

There was another thread about this a few years back.

So what's the latest, then?  Any of the old plans being resurrected now that the recession is over (just about)?

People complain about Swindon but I was in the centre a couple of weeks ago, for the first time in ages, and it's looking a lot tidier now they're redoing Regent Street and the area down by the Brunel

Did you see all the empty shops ?

Swindon at the moment is a sh1t hole, they need to get on with this regeneration they have been talking about for the last few years - that seems to be this council though, all talk no action.

I agree with Reeves. It looks as if it's getting somewhere half decentish looking, at last. Not much they can do about the empty shops is there?

You're mistaken, this is a thread about BHS collapsing.
