Boo. I'm convinced we were going to see the best of him before the end of the season. Would like to see him back at some point.

From the little I saw of him, he looked like a white Macnamee. We can do better.

I hate Portsmouth.  They are doomed, have no chance of staying up so wouldnt it be better if they stuck some youth team player on the bench for their game at Tottenham tomorrow, rather than recall Ritchie from a loan spell at a play off team in League One?

I blame Wilson.

They might be pinning their hopes on players like Ritchie for next season's relegation battle

Maybe it is to force us to buy him, because they're now allowed and weren't we supposed to be trying prior to the loan?

I reckon that is spot on. Ritchie is exactly the sort of player Portsmouth will want in the Championship, so I'd say the chances of us being able to buy him now are pretty remote. They won't get much money for him so there is no real incentive for them to sell - its the high value high earning players they need to offload.

Bit of a strange decision by Pompey to recall him considering them are doomed, you would think leave hinm with us let him get a bit of experience at L1 level and if they want him for next season then he'll be ready and in good spirits having (hopefully) helped us to promotion - but why do this today though when we can't replace him either

it wouldn't suprise me if AA had a major hand in the timing of the request i.e. a day after the loan market closes

I thought so. It would have made perfect sense I would have thought to have signed him. Especially with us having so many loan players.

Oh well. Marshall has come in and stepped up to the plate so not a great loss it would seem.

I believe that Pompey only had 16 fit players for tommorows game.
