I do an event each year called the dumball, all the info is here, dumball.org, but essentially it's when 150 people, in teams of three, buy a shit car and pimp it up/ paint it stupid colours, then drive across Europe and fancy dress, raising money for the teenage cancer trust, whilst having the time of their lives. This years event is in September and takes in three of the best driving roads in the world, travelling from Brighton to Sicily the scenic route.

No it's late notice, but it's still open for entries if anyone on here fancies getting a team together, the deadline is April 1st. PM me if you want more info

The price for the trip is on the site, that covers all your hotels, ferry's etc etc. Then it's the car which can cost no more than £400, but obviously you can split that with the rest of your team, ditto the petrol. Then it just depends how much you drink, people go out every night, but obviuosly some countries are better than others. You'd basicly need a grand I reckon, not cheap, but well worth it.

It's a similar event,  the difference being that dumball is run by volunteers and is not for profit.

Looks great fun! I'd want a motor like Whits' mates BangBus... that'd be perfect for such a trip!

Panda, yup, I think payment is needed for the trip itself by mid april, it's all on the site. Obviously they need the cash to book hotels, events etc. Your car you can, of course, get as near to the time as possible.

For full disclosure, I help organise some of the events on the road, and liase with the charity etc, others do the logistics, but all, like me, are volunteers who don't get paid for their work and the whole thing is run as non profit.

Seriously bang up for this as I graduate this summer and move out of my flat near Brighton on the 1st of September, which seems perfect. Can't afford anything now though!

Panda, get an interest free credit card?!

Seriously though, if you are a student in Brighton now can you PM me, as we may need some advice for the opening party, which non dumballers are invited too.
