seeing as I've got a shitty radio in my car and I use tapes anyway, is it worth picking up one of the cassette adaptors cheaply?
yep, a headphone socket to cassette player thing is definitely the best option.

itrip is a hassle to use and drains battery.

mine's stopped working too, tom, don't suppose you have any idea how to fix em? i guess it was an ipod software update that stopped it working? those apple gits.
