I had to go through the same thing about 2 or 3 weeks ago Spacey and it affected me much much more than I expected. I am usually a hard nosed fucker, but having to make the decision to put our dog down that my kids had been with all of their lives was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do, and it's still with me every day now.
I feel your pain mate.

Back in September my dog Ben was given just a few weeks to live by our vet, tumour in the mouth. I wanted him to see Xmas and beat the vet, he's still with us but I don't know for how much longer, going down hill fast now, shit happens and it's going to happen to me.

Heart wrenching stuff. That youtube clip is something else.
Here's my own little tribute:

Some are, some aren't. I have a goldfish that just swims around and eats its own shit - doesn't even know I exist. Most of the time I prefer the mrs.
