The bridge is owned by The Research Councils and is not a public bridge.

Which is just dumb, a bridge paid for by the public which the public can't use.

Its not paid for by the public though is it if its owned by the research council? Unless your using the argument that the research council is publically funded, which would just be just very very very very stupid

This tunnel is still there. The staircase on the Station Road side is blocked up, but you can still climb down. The entrance is in one of the car parks.The tunnel itself leads right under the tracks to a dead end, but again you can climb up and onto a bit of wasteland the other side of the tracks.

Oh my god that sounds like a knightmare! why would anyone want to do that!?

It did come from public money, indirectly but it is still privately owned!

I bet you think you have a "right" to a trip on NERC's plane as well.
