Since when is the penalty kick taker not alowed to go for a rebound if it hits the post/crossbar?
Justw watching the norwich vs colchester highlights and hoolahan took a penalty hit the crossbar, come back at him and put it away, but was nto allowed.
or is this something thats allways been around? seems a bit of a silly rule to me.

I think its to stop you dribbling the ball from the penalty. You get one touch, that's it. Seems fair enough to me.

i remember a sunday league game i played in where this happend.it kicked off big time when the goal was disallowed. the team were eventually thrown out of the league.

Correct, you cannot score a goal from a free kick, and that includes a penalty, by taking two attempts at it without an opposing player touching it.
