I have a load of coursework that I know I need to do, but I just keep putting it off.  When I do sit down and try to do it I can't concentrate and keep getting distracted to go and get food or check whats on TV etc.  Anyone got any suggestions?

I do all my work at my desk here so I always get distracted, but sometimes (like this Monday & Tues) my conscience gets the better of me and I work my bollocks off

Set yourself little targets and when you acheive them then treat yourself to a break. Sounds obvious but it's the only thing I can think of that has a remote chance of working, other than going to somewhere really quiet where televisions don't exist

I normally wait until the middle of the night when nothing much is happening.

Even cricket is more exciting than revision  Shocked

Johno it doesn't matter for you, GCSEs are a waste of time and they're easy anyway. Just learn all the key points you can find in any revision guide and you'll be fine. Except maths, that's all about practice.

There, is only one true motivator in this world: pressure

The setting yourself targets thing is probably right, do a topic, give yourself a porn break, do a topic.... Wink

I'm yet to find a way of making myself work. I still leave everything to the last minute. Knowing that it's 6am and you only have 8 hours till hand in tends to be pretty good motivation.

I'm starting to wonder if this is true. I did fairly well last semester because I went out and got drunk and stuff. This semester I've hardly been out and my units are going really crap!
