What sort of look are you going for, and is your hair either, thick and heavy, or thin and light?

Well I use VO5 Hard Glue, which is very strong, but my hair is very thick and heavy, so I need it to hold my hair up.
Are you looking to have your hair on end, or sort of messed up, but a little flatter?

Then there's loads of products out there for you, go for something like a wax, or a re-workable paste of some sort.

I've never been funky, and I'm not really young anymore so I have no place in this thread to be honest.

go into Wilkinsons(cheapest prices) and buy around 5 different types of gel. Try a different one everyday and you will soon find your favourite.

Gel is dreadful unless used with wax as it gives your a high a thin, forced look plus it easily comes out and ends up with bits of flakes which resemble dandruff. If your hair is quite thin then it will also mean people can see your scalp which isn't good! Wax is my favourite as your hair is still touchable and it's easier to work with, and doesn't look so forced providing you don't use too much. Lambretta Wax is my favourite, but it's quite expensive - bout a fiver for a small tub, but if used sparingly will last you a couple of months at least. I ain't gay or owt

Problems I find with wax, that it leaves white crap on your hair.

Problems I find with wax, that it leaves white crap on your hair. Try rubbing it thoroughly between your palms and then rigorously rubbing it into your hair, then style. If you're rigorous enough, there shouldn't be a problem, or you're using crap wax...

The problem I have with wax is softening the candles enough without heavily scoulding myself. It's a fine balance. Still safer than trying to get it from those pesky bees though.
