Thanks for posting this as a thread Juddie.I watched it with my wife and found Katie to be an incredibly brave young lady. Her family have also been wonderfully supportive.
Katie will still face many long hard days ahead, but she has an inner strength and determination. She deserves to still achieve her dreams, hopes and aspirations.
The one thing that i found a little surprising, was that the programme didn't touch on Katie receiving any ongoing counselling. It would be great for her to meet somebody like Simon Weston, who was terribly injured in the Falklands war and also received terrible facial burns.Just a chat with him would help boost her confidence and self esteem and to show her that a new life is just beginning for her.
I hope she finds personal happiness in the future, she deserves it.

I saw that puppie story, fucked me right off.
I just couldn't imagine how Katie has to live her life now. To even look at herself or touch her face and to be constantly reminded of what happened, to not be able to sleep, to not want to walk to the shop on your own, to fear going out, to not know if she'll ever marry or find love again - or trust a bloke again, to have not lived a normal life for so long, to lose what she had... I dunno, I just found it shocking that all that can happen in a split second and because of some vile, sick twisted f*ck.
Frightening.
I admire her and her family. To hear you kid saying they have no reason to get up in the morning must be one of the most soul destroying things a parent can face.
Good luck to her.

The photos of Katie in hospital really showed the visciousness of the attack.
The horror on the faces and the reaction of the customers in the cafe that she ran into for help, said everything.
Nobody, but nobody, could prepare her for looking in the mirror for the first time.

Can't imagine it. Especially when you're that stunning and your whole life is based around how you look.
