Has just been jailed for 18 months for actual bodily harm and sexually assaulting a girl. Wigan have sacked him.

I'm all for giving people second chances, but shouldn't scum like this be kicked out of the game for good?

He got 5 months in 2002 for handling stolen goods and an 8 week driving ban in 2008 for doing 106 in a 60 limit.

*Edit* He's also got to sign the sex offenders register.

Yeah, just what we need - a striker who starts attacking people when he fails to score.

It's all gone mental in the EPL of late.

I love a bit of drama.

Prosecution lawyer Roger Daniells-Smith said King had struck up a conversation with his victim by saying: "Don't you know who I am? I'm a millionaire."

The court heard she replied: "I don't care who you are; take your millionaire self away from our table."

He groped the woman and she told him: "Don't do that, it's not nice. Don't touch me."

King was warned off her again but he continued to stroke the woman's hair and then told her she was not in his league, the court heard.

After she pushed him in the chest, King lost his temper and a moment of "completely gratuitous violence" led to him "smashing" the victim to the floor, jurors were told.

Sounds like a charmer. Pretty much a case study in everything that's wrong with football at the moment.

What do you expect from an ex-pikey? Scally took him back after he was jailed last time.

Hopefully Whelan will now sue King for breach of contract, similar to what Chelski did with Mutu, and won substancial damages.

On the subject of Mutu, this is a month old, but an interesting read:

FFS, his agent is on R5 now boasting about how he's going to get freed on appeal then stroll into another contract. The vacuous living in a moral vacuum
