I'll be the first to admin i know nothing about TV's these days, its come the time where my lodger is moving out and we were using his massive 52" TV as opposed to my 23''. I dont think i will be able to go back to such a small TV so im gonna get a larger one, dont need anything as big as 52'' but looking atleast 32'' plus.
I dont want to spend too much maybe no more than 400-500 (or is that wishfull thinking?)
So ye, if people could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Panasonic or Sony. That is all.
If you will be mostly watching standard definition such as Freeview etc then don't bother with a Full HD set. A HD ready set will do the job perfectly.

You can easily get hold of an LG or Samsung 42" full HD for under £500 these days.

If size is everything this looks reasonable at slightly over budget: http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/304414/But it isn't full HD, and so it would depend on what you use it for and how close you sit to the TV. it's reckoned @ 50" I reckon you'd probably notice it's not full HD if you sit reasonably close (10ft or less). i'd also suggest to decide on the model you fancy,then search for the best price. i saved £300 on my tv from what currys,comet etc were charging for it. got it from here. www.laskeys.co.uk |

Dixons are alot cheaper than Currys and Comet online too.
May I suggest Richer Sounds. Lowest price guarenteed and they are experts.

Why not? I've not had any problems at all with mine (2 years old) and have been very impressed with my mate's (1 week old) one, though he spent a little more and got a slightly bigger (and better) one than mine. LG are cracking value for money as the brand can't command a premium like the Sony/Panasonic/Samsung's can. |

LG use Samsung panels don't they? The ones I've seen have generally looked pretty good (except where they're badly set up in Tescos etc but then they make the Panasonics look ropey too)

I must admit the sister in law got an LG 42" a month ago and the picture quality is as good as my Panasonic 40" and cost £200 less as well.
