I love it,but like most Telly comedy it doesnt actually make me laugh.
Do people really sit watching things killing themselves laughing?
Id be suprised if anyone said yes..

True. Even the best programmes only have one or two "laugh out loud" moments per episode for me. Doesn't mean the rest isn't funny though!

Comedy is no longer about instant laughs, what makes a show great now is when you can steal a line from it and repeat it down the pub at the right time for hilarious effect. That might sound like a dig at modern comedy, it's not. It's brilliant. You could put out any old shit on nowadays and somebody somewhere will do enough internal giggling to tune in next week, but if you manage to write stuff which will give some boring cunt the opportunity to amuse his mates down the pub by repeating it - either through a shared experience laugh or by claiming it for himself, then you've achieved much more. This is where the "ahead of their time" comedies like Fawlty Towers and Blackadder get their popularity from. Who hasn't had a laugh running through the coffee joke (or something similar) from Blackeadder4 with some mates?

I don't get the bumming peep show gets. Its funny, but not that great. It mainly consists of david mitchell saying 'actually' all the time
