I'm a little bit tempted by a day trip down to Lynmouth (from Bristol - on Sunday if the weather's good).
What's it like? Anything want visiting when I'm down there? How's parking? Will it be uncomfortably busy? Is it good for the dog?
it does get busy this time of year but nothing to bother you.the parking is a bit limited but i coped, just be a bit patient.i took my dog, and there were plenty of them about.
Pretty much what arriba said. Its not too big, so its easy to walk around. The tramway thing that links Lynton to Lynmouth is worth a go, provided you aren't scared of heights. We've just found a little beach at Kilve. Its a little village on the A39 about half way between Minehead and Bridgwater, so for me its about a 40 minute drive. When we left there on Sunday, having had a lovely picnic, there were a total of about 10 people there. Stunning place and only 2 quid to park all day. Check these out (none are mine as I've yet to sort out my pics yet) http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=kilve

I would like to go to Iceland, but never met anyone who has been there.
I've been. But then we've never met. And I went back when it was really, really expensive and so it wasn't always great. And half the population look like Bjork. Well, they've got her nose.

I've been to Iceland - well worth a visit for the Blue Lagoon , Gulfoss ,Geysirs etc but hideously expensive due to the fact it's a small place that is mostly uninhabitable hence they have to import most of the stuff that you wish to eat and drink .
Downtown Reykjavik is pretty good , loads of decent bars and restaurants and of course the obligatory English and irish pubs.
Also due to the American influence ( the US had a base in Keflavik for years ) there are plenty of fast food outlets ( Taco Bell ,Maccy D's ,Burger King ,Dominos) should you not fancy the local Icelandic delicacies of rotten shark meat and dried herring.
Downside is the once you have found the Maccy D's you'll pay the equivalent of £10 for a Big Mac !

Bloke I used to work with went to Iceland and brought some of that shark meat back, in a jar in brine (I think, although from the smell it could have been rancid piss). No-one could be persuaded to try it as it absolutely reeked until one divvie decided to give it the big I am. Took one swill of the brine out of the jar and predictably spat it out in disgust, most of it going all over him. He spent the rest of the morning smelling like he'd pissed himself (and that with some kind of unpleasant fungal infection) till we made him go home to change.

Maybe he was having us all on and he'd nicked one of the exhibits!

The skin on my knees has only just stopped being red. It's a pretty impressive tan line, or should I say stripe.
Hehe...always a funny tan from Leeds. Thankfully I just topped mine up in a field in Long Marston this weekend. I won't get much more of a tan now...stupid rain. Back on topic, North Norfolk coast is lovely (just avoid the obvious places), and quite a bit cheaper than going abroad (although both Dubrovnik and Budapest are great).

I peeled the last bits of Leeds' football tan off this morning. Sexy.

Avoid the sands dunes around Cromer, went there years ago with a bird for a bit of dirty camping, stumbled about in the dunes looking for somewhere for a bit of fly camping, and chanced on a bunch of gay nudists with their knobs hanging out... :poofs:

Surely nudists would have their knobs out anyway, whether gay or not?

Ah, but you probably would have been ok with them if they had been the female variety!
