I am in Scotland again. Took a speedboat ride down the Clyde yesterday from Glasgow to Dunoon. Superb.

As response to Pauld, im not sure mate. When I meant big holiday, I meant Dubai last year etc.
nice round there fella. i reccomend you make time to visit lynmouth a bit along the coast from where you are staying. that place is one of the most beautiful places in britain imo. |

Just come back fromthe Brecon Beacons, Talybont on Usk to be precise. Gret boozers and the place I stayed was Gilestone Caravan Park. Facilities were superb and was really cheap. Loads of walks and things to do on the canal and pub grub is fantastic.
It's only about 2 hours from Swindon (if you live there)

I like it around there...whenever in Lynmouth though, I think of the Boscastle style flood, in Lynmouth 30 odd people perished whereas amazingly no-one in Boscastle. Some years back I was camping up on Exmoor alongside the East Lyn river, and had been out on the lash....had sausages on a campfire on the river bank before hitting the sack, woke the next morning to find most of the remains of said fire, washing around under the flysheet. |

I'd forgotten about the conspiracy theory...for those wanting to know, it was widely believed that the clouds had been "salted" by the MoD as part of a research project. Reminds me a bit of the news that came out a while back that Swindon had been sprayed with some sort of virus in the 50's as part of an experiment by Porton Down. |

I'm a little bit tempted by a day trip down to Lynmouth (from Bristol - on Sunday if the weather's good).
What's it like? Anything want visiting when I'm down there? How's parking? Will it be uncomfortably busy? Is it good for the dog?

it does get busy this time of year but nothing to bother you.the parking is a bit limited but i coped,just be a bit patient.i took my dog, and there were plenty of them about.
